Description

The Dino Megazord — known in Japan as Daizyuzin — is the classic combining mecha from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (1992) and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Assembled from five Guardian Beasts / Dinozords (Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Triceratops, Saber-Toothed Tiger and Pterodactyl), this broad-shouldered warrior robot is, for many fans, THE original Megazord that started it all.

The "Black Edition" isn't a separate figure so much as the famous black-and-gold recolor of that zord. Trading the usual red-white-and-blue for deep black with gold accents, it's a tradition that began in Japan with the limited DX Daizyuzin (Black Version) in 1993 and has been revisited by several premium lines since: as the black-and-gold Legacy Collection release from Bandai America, as Tamashii Nations' Soul of Chogokin "Megazord Black Version" (GX-72B) for the 25th anniversary, and most recently as the black Limited Edition of Flame Toys' highly articulated "Kara Kuri Combine" figure.

What they all share is that upscale, almost "special order" look: black paired with gold chrome makes the armor plating and sword detailing read far richer than on the standard model — which is exactly why the Black Editions are prized shelf centerpieces among collectors.
