Description
This piece isn't a classic DX Zord but the modern Retro-Morphin take on Ninjor, known in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger as Ninjaman. Within the show he holds a special place: Ninjor is the classic „Helper“, operating independently of the Ninja- and Shogunzords, unable to combine with them, and instead backing up the Rangers as a standalone combat unit. His signature trait is the transformation from a compact ninja into his towering Battle Mode, called Samurai Man in Japan.
The Retro-Morphin line is Hasbro's loving homage to the „Auto-Morphin“ flip-head figures with which Bandai won over kids in the '90s. Rather than die-cast and combination gimmickry, the focus here is pure nostalgic play: a press on the back flips the head and shoulder section over and slides the leg armor down, turning the mini ninja into his Battle Mode. This very „morphing“ at the push of a button was the heart of the original figures and is faithfully revived here.
For the collection, this figure is a charming counterpoint to the big DX Ninjor: same character, an entirely different toy philosophy. The blue Ninjor comes with his ninja sword as an accessory and clearly bears the hallmarks of the Hasbro era (since the brand took over the license in 2018). Where the DX is the hefty display piece, the Retro-Morphin version captures the feel of '90s toy shelves — a small but heartfelt nod to the roots of the franchise.
