Description

King Pyramider is the colossal carrier mecha of KingRanger (Riki), the sixth warrior of Chōriki Sentai Ohranger (1995). It is a gigantic, flight-capable pyramid that doubles as Riki's spaceship. In its default Pyramid Formation it rolls across the battlefield as a mobile fortress – a walking mountain of gold and blue that dwarfs everything else the Ohranger field by sheer scale alone.

The real spectacle lies in its three formations. From the Pyramid Formation the mecha extends into the Carrier Formation, a long, mobile platform onto which the Choriki Mobiles and the Red Puncher ride to be transported together. On the command "King Pyramider, Battle Formation!" the giant rises into its Battle Formation, a towering humanoid robot and the single most powerful weapon in the entire Ohranger arsenal. It draws the Choriki Mobiles (or OhBlocker) inside itself to serve as a power source, while the Red Puncher docks onto its back and extends its arm cannons up over the shoulders – ready to unleash the devastating "Super Legend Beam." King Pyramider can also take in and carry the Ohranger Robo, effectively serving as a rolling home base for the whole team.

The DX toy from Bandai (1995) is a genuine shelf battleship: in Battle Formation it stands roughly 19 inches (about 48 cm) tall, making it one of the largest DX mecha of its era. Unlike the die-cast-heavy main robos, King Pyramider is built largely hollow inside – it has to house the other mechs, after all – which makes it surprisingly lightweight. It transforms through all three formations, and the DX Ohranger Robo (sold separately) can be stored inside and carried. Collectors can spot the original Japanese release by the fine flecked texture in its yellow panels, a detail the later US version lacks.

For Power Rangers Zeo the mecha was reworked into "Pyramidas the Carrier Zord" – the personal zord of the Gold Ranger (Trey of Triforia, later Jason) and the first carrier zord in the franchise to have its own pilot. Bandai America released it in 1996 as the "Deluxe Pyramidas the Carrier Zord." Combined with all five Zeo Zords and the Red Battlezord, it forms the mighty Zeo Ultrazord, presented either in Carrier Mode (every zord perched atop the elongated pyramid) or Warrior Mode (stood upright with the zords stored inside) – the concentrated firepower of the entire Zeo era in one build.
