Description

The Victorailer (ビクトレーラー, Bikutorērā) is the massive carrier mecha from Gekisou Sentai Carranger (1996, the 20th Super Sentai). A three-part articulated hauler — cab, middle section and rear car — it ferries the five VRV Machines into battle and, on the command "Victorailer, launch!", releases them so they can combine into VRV Robo. It can also stow the regular Ranger Vehicles and even Sirender, effectively serving as the rolling home base and resupply vehicle for the entire Carranger arsenal.

Its headline gimmick is the transformation: the Victorailer stack-transforms into Victorailer Battle Mode, with the cab forming the head and upper body, the first trailer becoming the midsection, and the second trailer forming the arms and the base. Ironically, this colossus is less a fighter than a walking fortress — a classic "box robot" with deliberately minimal articulation. Its real combat contribution lies elsewhere: it lends VRV Robo its two arm weapons, the V Bazooka and the V Vulcan, which power VRV Robo's devastating Victory Twister finisher.

In Power Rangers Turbo, the Victorailer supplied the footage for Artillatron, the carrier zord that transports the Rescuezords and (tied to the Phantom Ranger) acts as a mobile base. Artillatron was the first Carrierzord that could not itself combine into an Ultrazord, yet it too loaned its arms out as weapons for other Zords — exactly like its Japanese source.

The DX toy, "Battle Fortress DX Victorailer" (戦闘要塞 DX ビクトレーラー), was released by Bandai in 1996 at 8,800 yen and, at roughly 65 cm long, is one of the largest and most imposing DX pieces in the whole line. Unlike the classic combining robos, it is deliberately NOT die-cast but a huge plastic carrier that rolls on real wheels (four each on the front and middle units, six on the rear). Its cargo bays hold the five miniature VRV Machines and can also accommodate the Ranger Vehicles or Sirender. For Battle Mode the sections stack vertically, the left claw hand opens and closes, and the V Bazooka and V Vulcan mounted at the rear detach to be handed over to the DX VRV Robo. Bandai America released the exact same mold in Power Rangers Turbo as Artillatron — a dream piece for any Carranger/Turbo collector, and one that demands real shelf space.
