Description

Victory Mars is the fourth major mecha of Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive (1999) and serves as a complement to the primary robot, Victory Robo. Where Victory Robo is built from the ground-based 99Machines, Victory Mars forms from the five Mars Machines – a squadron of spacecraft designed specifically for deep-space rescue missions. It's a brilliant thematic follow-on that takes the series' well-conceived rescue motif literally into orbit.

Its signature feature is a two-stage transformation. On the command "Ryusei Gattai!" (流星合体, "Meteor Fusion") – triggered through the V-Mode Braces with the "4-5-6, V!" input – the five Mars Machines first combine into Beetle Mars, a quadruped beetle-type mecha built for landing on and traversing alien terrain, armed with the Mars Cannon on its dorsal hull. With "Rising Formation!" Beetle Mars then rises up into the humanoid Victory Mars. Its main weapon is the Jet Lance spear, tipped with the fireable Top Jet blade that it launches like a missile at the giant Saima Beasts before delivering its Mars Flare double-slash finisher.

As a DX toy, Victory Mars was released in 1999 by Bandai Japan as a classic DX Chogokin, featuring die-cast content and the full transformation gimmick – from the five-piece Mars Machines set, through Beetle Mars, to the fully stood-up robot. In Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (2000) it served as the Omega Megazord (formed from the five Omega Vehicles); Bandai America issued the corresponding Deluxe version, which – compared to the Japanese original – featured reduced paint applications and additional sticker decals. There was also a Deluxe Charging Omega Megazord that came with a morpher-styled remote control which fires missiles.

A collector's highlight: unlike Victory Robo (which fuses with Liner Boy into Max Victory Robo), Victory Mars stands as an independent third combatant that fights side by side with Victory Robo. For modern collectors, Bandai has reissued it as a detailed model kit through the Shokugan Modeling Project (SMP) as a Premium Bandai exclusive, its packaging deliberately styled after the original 1999 DX box – a loving bridge between vintage die-cast and modern kit-building precision.
