GaoKnight is one of the most striking alternate combinations from Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, styled as the "Spirit Knight of Fire." Unlike the core robo GaoKing or the muscle-bound upgrade GaoMuscle, GaoKnight is built around GaoKong — a red gorilla Power Animal whose Japanese name nods to "King Kong" and who debuted in the Gaoranger theatrical film "The Fire Mountain Roars." Hailing from the fire mountain, GaoKong stayed exclusive to the Japanese original, so GaoKnight never received a direct counterpart in Power Rangers Wild Force.

The fusion brings together six Power Animals: GaoKong forms the head and torso, while GaoEagle, GaoShark, GaoBison, GaoTiger and GaoElephant supply the armor, arms and legs. GaoKnight thus swaps out the usual centerpiece GaoLion for the hulking gorilla and adds GaoElephant on top — with six animals it's one of the most parts-heavy base combinations in the show, giving the robot a heavy, knightly, fire-themed silhouette.

As a toy, GaoKnight arrived in Bandai's premium DX Chogokin line, complete with the die-cast content the range is known for. The DX set was a Toys "R" Us exclusive in Japan, bundling GaoKong with the supporting animals. A neat collector quirk: the box included a special black GaoElephant — meant to complement the separately released Black GaoKing — even though a "proper" GaoKnight actually calls for the blue GaoElephant. As with the entire DX Gaoranger system, the animals swap freely, so GaoKong drops just as happily into other formations.

Hunting GaoKnight today, collectors will find the sought-after vintage DX alongside a modern reissue: Bandai's Shokugan Modeling Project (SMP) released Hyakujuu Gattai GaoKnight as a Premium Bandai-exclusive model kit (announced 2021, shipping 2022). Thanks to GaoKong's theatrical-film origin, both versions are prized shelf-pieces that stand well apart from the standard GaoKing and GaoMuscle combinations.
