The Furai Head is Karakuri Ball No. 07 from the Karakuri Ball system of Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger (2002) – known in the West as Power Rangers Ninja Storm. The Karakuri Balls are one of the show's cleverest toy concepts: compact, sphere-shaped Shinobi machines that the ninja teams deploy in battle. Each ball is marked with a kanji that corresponds to its Shinobi Medal and describes its function, and it unfolds in an instant into a weapon or a mecha component.

Together with the Furai Knuckle (No. 08), the Furai Head (No. 07) forms the Karakuri Warrior Fūraimaru (Karakuri Musha Fūraimaru), a small, nimble ninja-warrior mecha. The Furai Head makes up the warrior's upper half and head, while the Furai Knuckle forms its legs. Fūraimaru is closely tied to the Hurricanegers and the Gouraigers and can act as an independent little combat unit in its own right.

The Furai Head's most important role, however, comes during the big combination: it forms the helmet of the Karakuri Giant Gourai Senpuujin – the fusion of Senpuujin (Storm Megazord) and Gouraijin (Thunder Megazord) – while the Furai Knuckle becomes its fists. Without Fūraimaru the Gourai Senpuujin's face would be incomplete; the little warrior is an indispensable key piece in the transformation process.

As a toy, the Furai Head was released by Bandai Japan as part of the DX Karakuri Ball series (Karakuri Ball Series 03 “Fūraimaru” bundled balls No. 07 and No. 08). The appeal lies in the neat fold-out gimmick: a flick of the wrist turns the pocket-sized ball into the ninja warrior, and paired with the DX Senpuujin/Gouraijin robots it lets you crown the Gourai Senpuujin with its helmet. In the US the set came out under Bandai America's Power Rangers Ninja Storm line. For collectors, the Furai Head is a charming, affordable support piece that captures Hurricaneger's playful mecha philosophy perfectly.
