Description
The Thunder Megazord is the Ninja Storm name for Gouraijin from Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger – the "thunder" robot of the two Thunder Rangers (Hunter & Blake Bradley, or the Gouraiger brothers Ikkou and Isshu Kasumi). It forms from the fusion of two beetle-based Zords: the Crimson Insectizord (KabutoRaiger, a rhinoceros beetle packing heavy firepower and back-mounted cannons) and the Navy Beetlezord (KuwagaRaiger, a stag beetle with gripping pincers and a cloaking device). A compact, hard-hitting two-piece gattai, it backs up the Storm Megazord and can further merge into the mighty Thunderstorm Megazord (Gouraisenpuujin).
This "Black Edition" is a black recolor from Bandai Japan – the same molds, the same Karakuri transformation gimmick and the die-cast content of the regular DX Gouraijin, simply repainted in an all-over sinister black. The known real release is the limited "DX Gourai Senpuujin Black ver.", which renders the line's mecha (Gouraijin included) and their Karakuri Balls in black – a pure collector piece with no functional change.
That is exactly what makes the Black Edition a treat for collectors: the familiar, sturdy DX chassis with full combinability (Senpuujin, Furaimaru, Gouraisenpuujin), dressed in a rare, premium special paint that makes the aggressive beetle silhouette look even more menacing.
