The Blast Buggy is a movie-exclusive support mecha from Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger — it never appeared in the weekly TV series, instead debuting in the theatrical feature „Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger The Movie: Full Blast Action" (Japanese premiere 11 September 2004, double-billed with the Kamen Rider Blade film). This heavy assault buggy is one of the last operational DekaVehicles left behind at the DekaBase on Planet Leslie, a world overrun by a virus. There it is found and driven by DekaBreak, who brings it into battle against the Gas Drinkers' army of machine slaves.

Because DekaVehicles across the galaxy share the same design, the Blast Buggy is able to combine with Earth's own DekarangerRobo. On the command „Tokusō Busō!" (Special Investigation Armament!) it forms the DekarangerRobo Full Blast Custom: the buggy splits into the Blast Shield, which replaces the signboard on the PatSigner arm, and the Blast Launcher, a powerful double-barrel gun, while the rear bumper docks on as a chest ornament. Its signature „Spinning Blast" attack drives the shield's blade into the ground, then spins the Robo around to fire the Launcher in every direction. At roughly 51 meters tall and 6,600 tons, the combined form is a genuine heavyweight.

As a toy, the DX Blast Buggy was released by Bandai Japan as part of the Dekaranger line: a solid combining model with die-cast content that rolls in buggy mode and docks onto the DX DekarangerRobo via the classic DX transformation to build the Full Blast Custom. In the US, the same tooling was carried by Bandai America into the „Space Patrol Delta" line and sold there as the Blast Buggy as well — both the Japanese and American boxes are keenly sought shelf pieces today.

A curiosity for S.P.D. fans: although the mecha reached shelves as an S.P.D. Zord through Bandai America, it was never edited into the Power Rangers S.P.D. show. Its official US counterpart is named the „Blast Runner" and effectively exists only as merchandise rather than on screen. That is exactly what makes the Blast Buggy so appealing to collectors — a „show-less" oddity that no complete Dekaranger/S.P.D. mecha display should be without.
