Description
The DekaBike Robo is the personal Giant Robo of DekaBreak, the sixth warrior of Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger. Unlike the DekarangerRobo, which is assembled from five police vehicles, this one springs from a single mecha: the giant police motorcycle DekaBike, piloted by DekaBreak. As a one-man robo it mirrors the lone-detective character of its rider and serves the team as a fast, agile rapid-response unit.
Its signature feature is a dual nature: it shifts between a hefty motorcycle mode built for speed and a humanoid robot mode for close-quarters combat. It is armed with Laser Beams (its rope- and beam-firing cannons) as well as blades mounted on its arms. Its best trick, however, is the team-up: the DekarangerRobo can mount the DekaBike — the Riding DekarangerRobo formation — and the two ultimately merge into the mighty Super DekarangerRobo. That makes the DekaBike Robo both a standalone fighter and a support/carrier mecha for the main robot.
As a DX toy it was released by Bandai Japan under the name "Tokusou Henkei DekaBike Robo." The set converts by hand from motorcycle to robot and connects with the separately sold DX Dekaranger Robo to recreate the Riding and Super combinations — a must-have for anyone assembling the complete Dekaranger mecha lineup. In the U.S. adaptation Power Rangers S.P.D. the same mecha is called the Omegamax Megazord, formed from the Omega Ranger's Omegamax Cycle; the corresponding DX release was distributed there by Bandai America.
For collectors the DekaBike Robo / Omegamax Megazord is a coveted piece: it not only completes the fleet built around DekarangerRobo and DekaBase Robo, but as a "sixth-ranger mecha" it was typically produced in smaller numbers and is harder to track down today than the show's main robots.
