Description
This collector ensemble brings together three iconic sides of the mecha world from Mahou Sentai Magiranger (2005) – the fantasy Sentai season that was adapted two years later as Power Rangers Mystic Force. Rather than a single robot, the appeal here is the interplay: the golden MagiShine faction, the crimson firebird MagiPhoenix, and the silver-armored knight antagonist Wolzard. It's exactly this pairing of hero, magic, and villain that makes Magiranger such a beloved shelf piece among collectors.
MagiPhoenix is the giant Majin form of MagiRed – a blazing firebird that also serves as the heart and the very „head" of the grand combination MagiKing (the Titan Megazord in Mystic Force), formed when the five sibling wizards unite. The „Gold" in the name points to MagiShine's side: Hikaru, the golden sixth ranger (US: Solaris Knight), with his magical iron-god railcar Travelion (US: Solar Streak Megazord) and his golden steed Unigolon, which upgrades MagiPhoenix into the more powerful SaintKaiser form. In Magiranger, gold is not merely a color but the hallmark of „holy" light magic.
Wolzard, finally, is the dark knight in gleaming silver armor (US: Koragg the Knight Wolf), riding the mighty warhorse Barikion (US: Catastros) – together they form the centaur warrior Wolkaiser (US: Centaurus Wolf Megazord). A special treat for toy collectors: MagiPhoenix can likewise dock with Barikion to form FireKaiser – a cross-ranger compatibility straight from the show that was deliberately preserved in the DX system, opening up plenty of play combinations.
On the toy front, these pieces come from Bandai's Japanese DX line, prized for its transformation-and-combination gimmicks and – true to the era – its die-cast content. The golden MagiShine sets (such as the „Gold Grip Phone & DX Travelion" set) shipped in Japan partly as Toys'R'Us exclusives. In the US, Bandai America released the same molds under Power Rangers Mystic Force – as the Titan Megazord, Solar Streak Megazord, and Centaurus Wolf Megazord. For the display case, the blend of golden light, red firebird, and silver knight is a genuine Magiranger highlight.
