Description
DaiVoyager is the fourth and mightiest mecha of GoGo Sentai Boukenger, making its grand debut in Task 33. It fully earns its "Chōzetsu" (超絶, roughly "transcendent/extreme") prefix: in vehicle mode it appears as GoGoVoyager, an enormous amphibious battleship armed with four sets of Voyager Cannons and able to operate across land, sea, and air. From this flying carrier, five GoGo Machines (No. 14 through 18) fold together into the single largest robot in the entire Boukenger arsenal — the "Extreme GoGo Gattai."
Each component is piloted by a member of the team: GoGo Commander (BoukenRed) becomes the head, the heavily armored freighter GoGo Carrier (BoukenBlack) forms the body and legs, the nimble GoGo Fighter (BoukenBlue) becomes the shoulders, the dive-bomber GoGo Attacker (BoukenYellow) forms the chest, and the steamroller-like GoGo Roader (BoukenPink) becomes the arms. Its signature finisher is the "Double Adventure Spin," in which DaiVoyager's fists spin, detach from its arms, and saw through the enemy.
A special treat for collectors is the "Burning Legend" form from the anniversary film GoGo Sentai Boukenger vs. Super Sentai: AkaRed channels the Souls of every past Super Sentai warrior to supercharge DaiVoyager, which then defeats Chronos with the tremendous "30 Super Sentai Soul" attack — a fitting climax for the franchise's 30th anniversary.
The DX toy was released in 2006 by Bandai (Japan) as a lavish five-vehicle set that recreates the full transformation from the amphibious battleship GoGoVoyager into the towering DaiVoyager robot. In Power Rangers Operation Overdrive the same transforming giant was sold by Bandai America as the BattleFleet Megazord — likewise an amphibious battleship with four cannon sets, assembled from five zords. A commanding shelf piece, and for many fans the most impressive giant of the Boukenger era.
