Description

Gosei Great is the primary hero mecha (Megazord) of Tensou Sentai Goseiger (2010), assembled from the "Headders" piloted by the five Goseigers: Alata (Gosei Red), Eri (Gosei Pink), Agri (Gosei Black), Moune (Gosei Yellow) and Hyde (Gosei Blue). In the US adaptation Power Rangers Megaforce (2013) it is known as the Gosei Great Megazord. It serves as the team's standard main robot and their first combining Megazord before larger formations appear later in the show.

The robot is built from five creature-shaped Headders: Gosei Dragon (a red dragon) forms the head and torso, while Gosei Phoenix (a phoenix) and Gosei Shark (a blue shark) become the two arms and Gosei Snake (a black snake) and Gosei Tiger (a yellow tiger) form the legs, with the dragon's head displayed prominently on the chest. Transformation and attacks are triggered by inserting "Gosei Cards" (Tensou Cards). Gosei Great fights with a sword and performs a card-activated finishing strike (staged as the "Victory Charge" in Megaforce). The Headders belong to a modular system, so additional Headders and support mecha allow for alternative combinations.

The DX toy "Tensou Gattai Gosei Great" was released in 2010 by Bandai Japan. It is made predominantly of plastic (the Goseiger line used little to no die-cast) and unites the five Headders — Gosei Dragon, Gosei Phoenix, Gosei Snake, Gosei Tiger and Gosei Shark — which combine into the humanoid robot via plug-together and fold-out mechanics. Its signature feature is the Gosei Card slot, which produces sound and effect playback when a card is inserted. For the US market, Bandai America issued a largely identical version in 2013 under Power Rangers Megaforce as the "Gosei Great Megazord"; Hasbro did not take over the Power Rangers brand until 2018 and was not involved with this toy.
