Description

Engine Machalcon (Japanese: エンジンマッハルコン) is an auxiliary/support mecha from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (2011). He belongs to the "Engines," the sentient machine beings introduced in Engine Sentai Go-Onger, and is presented in the series as the son of Speedor and BearRV (Engine number 13). Visually he is a cross between a falcon and a Formula 1 race car, and his name is a portmanteau of "mach" and the English word "falcon." The Gokaigers summon him using the Go-Onger Ranger Keys (notably the Go-On Gold key); he is not a standalone main Megazord but an additional ally. In the US counterpart Power Rangers Super Megaforce, Bandai America released him as a toy, the "Turbo Falcon Megazord" (2014).

Machalcon can carry the crew and appears in two key combinations. In "Go-On GokaiOh" form, GokaiOh mounts on Machalcon's back (with Machalcon replacing the roles of GokaiTrailer and GokaiMarine), allowing the robot to fly. The strongest formation is "Kanzen GokaiOh" (Complete GokaiOh), the union of GokaiOh, GoZyuJin and Machalcon: chest wings open up, GoZyuJin's drill sits on the right arm, and the finishing moves are the "Kanzen Missiles" fired from the fingertips of an enlarged left hand and the "Kanzen Drill" slash.

The DX toy was released in 2011 by Bandai Japan as "Gokai Machine Series 05: DX Engine Machalcon." It converts between race/vehicle mode and robot mode and combines with DX GokaiOh and DX GoZyuJin to form Kanzen GokaiOh. As is standard for the DX line, it includes die-cast/metal parts as well as electronics with light and sound features; together with the included "Engine Souls" (Machalcon Engine Soul and Kanzen Engine Soul), the figure produces 18 different voice and sound effects. The set also comes with a Go-On Gold Ranger Key that can be seated in the cockpit. A North American version does exist, however: Bandai America released the mecha in 2014 as the "Turbo Falcon Megazord," which — unlike the Japanese original — even adds its own robot/Megazord mode; there was no Hasbro release.
