Description
The Zeo Racer Zord is, strictly speaking, not a mecha from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, and it did not appear in the Power Rangers Super Megaforce TV series either. It is a toy-only creation by Bandai America for the Super Megaforce "Zord Builder" line, styled after the Red Battlezord from Power Rangers Zeo (note the star-shaped cockpit window and the arm-like front sections). It has no Super Sentai or Gokaiger counterpart: Gokaiger's link to "Zeo" ran through the Ohranger Greater Power (Ohranger being the Sentai equivalent of the Zeo Rangers), which was used to form the GokaiGalleon Buster — adapted in the US as the Super Mega Cannon. The Zeo Racer Zord therefore exists purely as an American merchandise homage; no Japanese DX release by Bandai Japan exists.
In play it belongs to the modular Zord Builder peg-and-port system. Mechanically it is a retool of the Delta Runner Zord with a redesigned front and mid-section. It attaches to the Legendary Megazord (the US version of GokaiOh) the same way the Delta Runner does, forming the Legendary Zeo Megazord. Its standardized connectors also let it mix with other Zord Builder pieces or be arranged in a "battle station" display mode.
The set was made by Bandai America and released in February 2014 at roughly a US$15 retail price. Like the rest of the Zord Builder sub-line it is entirely plastic, with no die-cast content. It ships with a small Red Ranger action figure and a Zeo Red Ranger Key. Being a remold, its functions largely match those of the Delta Runner Zord. For collectors the key point is that this Zord was never released in Japan and has no Gokaiger / Bandai Japan equivalent — it was produced exclusively for the North American Super Megaforce line.
