Description
The Dino Charge Megazord is the US designation for the primary mecha of Power Rangers Dino Charge / Dino Super Charge (2015–2016), Bandai America's adaptation of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (2013). In the Japanese source material it is known as Kyoryuzin (キョウリュウジン), the main combining robot of the Kyoryuger team. Its core is the T-Rex Zord (Gabutyra in Japan), partner beast of the Red Ranger (Kyoryu Red / Dino Charge Red). Additional dinosaur Zords – Stego (Stegotchi), Para (Parasagun), Tricera (Dricera) and others – form the arms and add-on parts.
Assembly is modular: the T-Rex Zord serves as the torso and head while two further Zords plug in as arms, allowing several configurations (the default being T-Rex + Stego + Para). On screen the Zords are activated by Dino Chargers – capsule "batteries" called Zyudenchi in the Japanese version – and the Megazord fields weapons such as a sword or drill depending on the loadout.
This particular item is Bandai America's "Limited Edition Dino Charge Megazord," a quietly released Target-exclusive from the Dino Super Charge assortment (January 2016). It is a recolor set: a green T-Rex Zord paired with black Stego and Tricera Zords, heavily accented with gold plastic and paint plus touches of silver, which combine into an all-black-and-gold Megazord in the vein of the black recolor editions from other Power Rangers seasons. Construction is all-plastic (part of the interchangeable Zord Builder system; no die-cast), and it assembles via the line's modular peg connectors. It ships with one exclusive clear-transparent "Fossil" Dino Charger. Note that this is the US Bandai America release; Japan separately produced its own dark repaint (the DX Kyoryuzin Dark Version, a Bandai Premium lottery item), which is a different product.
