Description
Kyoryuzin (キョウリュウジン) is the primary hero mecha of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (2013, the 37th Super Sentai series), adapted in the United States as Power Rangers Dino Charge (2015) and Dino Super Charge (2016). In the Japanese show it is formed by the Kamitsuki Gattai ("Bite Combination") of three Zyudenryu (Guardian Beasts): Gabutyra (Kyoryu Red), Stegotchi (Kyoryu Blue) and Dricera (Kyoryu Pink); the Power Rangers counterpart is the Dino Charge Megazord built from the T-Rex, Stego and Tricera Zords. This "Dark Version" is an evil, dark-recolored take on that mecha. The dark Zyudenryu appeared around the Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters film but had no substantial role in the TV series itself — it is essentially a collector-oriented toy variant that was never released as a Power Rangers product, making it Japan-exclusive.
Like the standard model, the Dark Version is assembled from three individual Zyudenryu — here in a black-and-purple Deboss color scheme (Dark Gabutyra, Dark Stegotchi, Dark Dricera) — that combine into the robot. The distinguishing feature is the "Full Action" concept: whereas the regular DX combining toy is designed mainly for assembly and reconfiguration and offers only limited posability, the Full Action release prioritizes articulation, with more than 15 points of movement across the body for dynamic action poses that the classic DX mecha cannot achieve.
The DX toy is made by Bandai (Japan) and was sold as a Premium Bandai limited exclusive. The original "Kamitsuki Gattai DX Kyoryuzin ~Dark Version~" was a Premium Bandai lottery item from November 2013 (roughly 8,500–8,900 yen), a black repaint of the standard Kyoryuzin bundled with Deboss versions of its Zyudenchi (battery collectible chips). The item described here, the "DX Kyoryuzin DARK FULLACTION VER.", is a remake of that concept in the Full Action format, released for Kyoryuger's 10th anniversary in March 2024 at a price of 13,200 yen. In robot mode it measures roughly 260 × 250 × 110 mm (H × W × D) and is made of ABS, PVC and POM — no die-cast metal is used. As a notable extra, the figure is cross-compatible with the separately sold DX King-Ohger ZERO (from Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger), allowing original cross-series combinations.
