Description
ToQ-Oh (Japanese トッキュウオー, Tokkyū-Ō) is the primary mecha of the Super Sentai series Ressha Sentai ToQger, which aired in Japan as the 38th Sentai entry across 2014–2015. The show's team, the ToQgers (ToQ 1gou through ToQ 5gou; Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink), is a railway-themed squad whose powers draw on imagination and trains (Ressha). A key point for collectors: ToQger was never adapted into a season of Power Rangers — it was skipped in the US localization. As a result there is no American/Hasbro name and no Western toy release; ToQ-Oh exists only as a Japan-exclusive Bandai product.
ToQ-Oh is formed by the "Ressha Gattai" (train union) of five separate Ressha — the Red, Blue, Yellow, Green and Pink train cars. The signature gimmick of the ToQger line is a swapping mechanism ("Norikae Gattai"): individual cars can be re-plugged into different sockets on the torso and limbs, letting the arms, legs and abilities be exchanged. This yields many intermediate configurations and sets ToQ-Oh apart from megazords that combine in a single fixed way. In its default build the Red Ressha forms the head and torso, while the remaining cars become the arms and legs.
The base toy was released in 2014 as the "DX ToQ-Oh" by Bandai Japan, made largely of ABS plastic with rolling train cars and the swap function described above. This catalog entry concerns a die-cast special edition under Bandai's Chogokin label. "Chogokin" (超合金) is the long-standing Bandai / Tamashii Nations brand name for toys containing cast metal, aimed at adult collectors rather than the children's DX line; such editions replace part of the plastic with die-cast metal for added weight and a more premium finish while retaining the core combination and swap mechanics. Because the exact specification and print-run details of this special variant cannot be verified with certainty, they are kept deliberately general here. What is certain is that this edition, too, was sold only in Japan; a Power Rangers version never existed.
