The Claw Ressha comes from Ressha Sentai ToQger (2014–2015), the 38th Super Sentai series, whose mecha are all styled as Ressha (列車, "trains"). ToQger was never adapted into a Power Rangers season, so neither the show nor its toys ever appeared under the Power Rangers brand; the Claw Ressha was released in Japan only and has no US name. It is a special variant of the Build Ressha, the orange, construction-themed support Zord belonging to ToQ 6gou (Akira Nijino, formerly the Shadow Line creature Zaram). The "Claw" in its name refers to the prominent crane/grabber arm of this Ressha.

Like the Build Ressha, the vehicle transforms on its own into the humanoid mecha Build Dai-Oh and can also combine with the main Megazord ToQ-Oh and other support Ressha (for example into Build Dai-Oh Tank or Build Dai-Oh Drill). Its signature features are the articulated construction crane with grabber plus shovel and plough elements; as a pure recolor, the Claw Ressha shares this combination and transformation mechanism entirely with the standard Build Ressha.

The DX toy was made by Bandai (Japan) as part of the "Ressha Gattai" DX line. The Claw Ressha was not a regular retail item but an exclusive, recolored edition of the DX Build Ressha, distributed through the October 2014 issue of the children's magazine Terebi-kun (Televi-kun). Functionally it matches the standard release — conversion into a small robot and docking onto ToQ-Oh and Build Dai-Oh — differing mainly in its exclusive coloring, and it follows the largely plastic construction of the DX Ressha line. Because ToQger was never adapted, no Bandai America or Hasbro version exists; collectors treat this piece as a Japanese magazine premium / limited variant.
