Description

Hyper Ressha Tei-Oh (ハイパーレッシャテイオー) is from Ressha Sentai ToQger, the 38th Super Sentai series (2014), whose entire theme centers on trains. ToQger was never adapted into a Power Rangers season – it was skipped in the U.S. adaptation line – so this mecha only ever existed as a Japanese Bandai toy and was never released as a Power Rangers product. Within the show, the Hyper Ressha is a late-series reinforcement vehicle of the Rainbow Line, made available to the ToQgers (chiefly ToQ 1gou, Right), and it can deploy on its own as a giant standalone mecha rather than as a mere add-on part.

The signature feature is its build as a large steam-locomotive-style Ressha with three modes: a vehicle mode (Hyper Ressha), a depot/base mode (Hyper Ressha Terminal) that can dock smaller Ressha, and a robot mode (Hyper Ressha Tei-Oh). The conversion to robot mode is deliberately simple: the locomotive stands upright and a small Ressha attaches as the head. The robot is armed with the Hand Launchers, cannons built into its fingers, and its finishing attack is the Hyper Ressha Tei-Oh: Giant Flash. Combined with the previously released ToQ Ressha, it forms the largest combinations in the line (including ToQ Rainbow / Chou Chou ToQ-DaiOh).

The DX toy is made by Bandai Japan and was released on 10 October 2014 as part of the Ressha Gattai (Train Union) Series 12 (烈車合体 DXハイパーレッシャテイオー). It is a large-scale piece, roughly 560 mm long in vehicle mode, packaged in a correspondingly big box (about 2.5 kg), and is made predominantly of plastic (ABS/PVC); no meaningful die-cast content should be expected from the DX Ressha line. Its core gimmick is switching between all three modes without swapping parts. The model is also compatible with separately sold Ressha, which dock in Terminal mode or serve as the head/accessories in robot mode. Its color scheme is dominated by gold/yellow and black. Within the ToQger toyline it is the single largest mecha and the base of the show's final on-screen combination.
