Description

The Kyoryuger Ressha comes from Ressha Sentai ToQger (2014/15), the 38th Super Sentai series, whose entire theme is built around trains ("Ressha"). It is not one of the ToQger team's regular trains but a crossover / support ressha that imports powers from another series: it is modeled after Gabutyra, the T-Rex mecha (Zyudenryu) from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (2013, the 37th Sentai series). It first appeared on screen in the film "Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai" (2014) and returned in "Ressha Sentai ToQger vs. Kyoryuger: The Movie" (January 2015). It is therefore an auxiliary/support ressha rather than a standalone main Megazord. A key point for collectors: ToQger was never adapted into Power Rangers (the series was skipped in the US), so this train never appeared as a Power Rangers toy and remained Japan-exclusive. Kyoryuger itself did become Power Rangers Dino Charge, with Gabutyra reworked into the T-Rex Zord — but the "Kyoryuger Ressha" is a product of the ToQger toyline and was never part of a Hasbro or Bandai America release.

Its battle function follows the series' modular gimmick: like the other support ressha, the Kyoryuger Ressha slots into the DX ToQ-Oh in place of one of the standard cars, giving the robot a Kyoryuzin-styled head and arms and unlocking the "ToQ-Oh Kyoryuzin" battle mode. In the films the combination is extended further, for example adding Kamen Rider Den-O's Den-Liner to form "ToQ-Oh Kyoryuzin feat. Den-Liner". Inserted into the ToQ Changer transformation bracelet, the ressha triggers its own dedicated Kyoryuger sound effects. A distinctive detail is the slightly openable jaw, echoing Gabutyra's hinged T-Rex mouth.

The DX toy was released in 2014 by Bandai Japan as "Ressha Gattai EX Kyoryuger Ressha" (part of the Train Union / Ressha Gattai line's EX collaboration sub-series, which also includes EX Go-Busters and EX Den-Liner). It is a small, all-plastic train figure (no die-cast) built on the generic ressha body, with crisply painted Kyoryuger/Gabutyra detailing and a movable jaw. It is compatible with the separately sold DX ToQ-Oh and ToQ Changer. Collector note: the jaw mechanism is purely cosmetic with no play function, so the piece is best regarded as a collaboration accessory rather than an independent combining mecha.
