Description
Gekiatsu Dai-Oh (激熱大王; full name Gekiatsu Shuriken Gattai Gekiatsu Dai-Oh) is a secondary main mecha from Shuriken Sentai Ninninger (2015), the 39th Super Sentai series. Unlike the standard robo Shurikenjin, it is piloted collectively by all six Ninningers and is assembled from six new Otomo-Nin (animal companion ninja): Houhou-Maru (phoenix, Red), Seiryu-Maru (dragon, Blue), Genbu-Maru (tortoise, Yellow), Byakko-Maru (white tiger, White), Panda-Maru (panda, Pink) and Magoi-Maru (black carp), the last created by the sixth ranger StarNinger himself. Four of the animals reference the Chinese "Four Symbols." Notably, this is the first time a Sixth Ranger's mecha serves as a core component of a regular main robot, a point the series explicitly acknowledges. In the US adaptation Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel (2018) it appears as the (Ninja) Blaze Megazord.
Gekiatsu Dai-Oh has an orange-and-blue color scheme. The six Otomo-Nin dock together into a humanoid robot, and a lever on its back fires Ninninger-shaped projectiles from its chest; in combat it relies mainly on rapid hand-to-hand strikes. It can also link with the other Ninninger mecha Lion Ha-Oh and Bison King to form the larger combination Ha-Oh Gekiatsu Dai-Oh.
The DX toy was released in Japan by Bandai on 10 October 2015 as a six-piece combining set (Shuriken Gattai DX Gekiatsu Dai-Oh). Like the other Ninninger DX robots it is made mostly of plastic (ABS/PVC); no significant die-cast content is documented. The six Otomo-Nin can be played with individually and combined into the robot; a spring mechanism in the back launches small ranger darts from the chest, and the parts are compatible with the wider Ninninger mecha system. In North America, Bandai America released the same mold in 2017/2018 as the "Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel Blaze Megazord" (a Deluxe set of six combining Zords — Falcon, Serpent, Tortoise, Tiger, Panda and Piranha Zord — with dart-launching action and Zord Builder compatibility).
