Description
The Washi Voyager ("Eagle Voyager") is the personal mecha of Washi Pink in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger (2017), the 41st Super Sentai series. Washi Pink is the navigation android Raptor 283, whose constellation motif is Aquila, the Eagle — hence the mecha's eagle form. It is not a main Megazord but one of the modular combining Voyagers of the KyurenOh system. In the US adaptation Power Rangers Cosmic Fury (2023), only Kyuranger's mecha footage was reused, while the Ranger suits and ground fights were produced anew.
Like every Voyager, the Washi Voyager follows the "Kyutama Gattai" (Kyutama Combination) principle: the individual Voyagers connect to one another via ball joints and can serve interchangeably as an arm or a leg of KyurenOh. The Washi Voyager fills a limb slot in KyurenOh's alternate configurations rather than being part of the standard five-Voyager combination. Its signature features are a pair of bladed wings and an energy beam fired from the eagle's beak.
The DX toy was released by Bandai (Japan) in 2017 under the official name "Kyutama Gattai 08 DX Washi Voyager"; the "08" denotes its position in the DX Voyager release sequence, not the character's team number. Sold individually, it is made mostly of plastic (no significant die-cast, as is typical for this line). Articulation in Voyager mode is limited to the jaw and wings, while ball joints allow it to plug onto KyurenOh or other Voyagers as an arm or leg. It includes the Washi Kyutama, a sphere that triggers dedicated sounds in the DX Seiza Blaster. No Power Rangers counterpart exists: Hasbro's Cosmic Fury line was small (notably the Cosmic Zord Mega Pack with lion, wolf, bull, chameleon and shark) and never included an eagle/Washi zord, leaving this mecha exclusive to Bandai's Japanese release.
