The Hammer Dial Fighter comes from "Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger" (Super Sentai, 2018/2019, the 42nd entry in the franchise). It belongs to the "Dial Fighters", the flying mecha vehicles piloted by the thief team (Lupinranger); the police team (Patranger) instead fields the "Trigger Machines". Together both vehicle types make up the overarching "VS Vehicle" line. The three core Dial Fighters – the Red (LupinRed), Blue (LupinBlue) and Yellow Dial Fighter (LupinYellow) – combine together with GoodStriker into the show's main Megazord, Kaitou Gattai LupinKaiser. The Hammer Dial Fighter, by contrast, is not a standalone battle mecha but a support/armament unit. Because this series was never adapted into a Power Rangers season, it was never released as a Power Rangers toy; it is a Japan-exclusive item with no US name.

In vehicle mode the Hammer Dial Fighter is an orange tiltrotor aircraft. Its transformation and docking mechanism is the same as the Blade Dial Fighter's, but instead of a blade it forms a large war hammer that is placed in LupinKaiser's hand as a melee weapon. On the separately sold DX VS Changer (the show's morpher/blaster), it is recognized as "Hammer" and triggers its own combination announcement and a new sound effect, while sharing the "Kaitou Boost" jingle with the other Dial Fighters.

The DX toy was produced by Bandai (Japan) and released in April 2018 as part of the "VS Vehicle" line. It is made of plastic (no die-cast). The most notable trait of this variant is its distribution: the Hammer Dial Fighter was not a regular retail product but a campaign bonus, given away free with the purchase of any Lupinranger VS Patranger DX toy while supplies lasted. Technically it is a heavy repaint and retool of the Blade Dial Fighter, yet thanks to its distinct audio and different hammer form it is regarded by collectors as feeling largely like its own toy.
