Description

Gigant Driller is the personal auxiliary mecha of Kiramai Silver, the sixth warrior of "Mashin Sentai Kiramager" (the 44th Super Sentai series, 2020–2021). The show was never adapted into a Power Rangers season and remained Japan-exclusive, so it has no official US name. Its basis is the orange drilling Mashin "Mashin Drijan," a triple-drill machine. Kiramai Silver, whose civilian identity is Takamichi, can turn himself into a silver Kiramai Stone; inserting that stone into Drijan raises the machine into the robot Gigant Driller. It is a stand-alone secondary mecha and is not part of the team's main combination, Kiramaizin.

In the show Gigant Driller fights with its three drills and can shift into a drill-tank (vehicle) mode. Its "weapon"/armament loadout consists of two additional Mashin: Mashin Duston (a blue garbage truck) and Mashin Magellan (a green cement mixer), both of which convert into weapons for Gigant Driller. In its signature attack, Magellan marks the enemy's weak points, the drills break them open, the monster is hurled away, and Duston vacuums up the remaining debris. Gigant Driller can also wield all of the Rangers' Kiramai Weapons, and the yellow excavator Mashin Shovellow can plug into one of its shoulders. It is not designed to combine with Kiramaizin or the other Kiramai robots.

The DX toy was released in 2020 by Bandai Japan as "Robo Series 03." The "Mashin Buso Set" (Armed/Weapon Set) described here bundles the DX Gigant Driller (Mashin Drijan) and its silver Kiramai Stone together with the two weapon Mashin, Duston and Magellan; the standalone "DX Gigant Driller" release instead contains only Drijan and the stone. The outer box measures roughly 35 × 30 × 12.4 cm at about 950 g. Construction is predominantly plastic, in line with the DX Robo line; no significant die-cast content is documented. The electronic gimmick is a battery-powered light: the silver Kiramai Stone illuminates when it is set into Drijan and gripped by the robot's arm (batteries included). Because Kiramager was never released outside Japan as Power Rangers, there is no Bandai America or Hasbro counterpart.
