Description
ZenkaiOh JuraGaon is the central robot (main mecha) of "Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger" (2021, the 45th Super Sentai series). The Zenkaigers themselves are mechanical lifeforms (Kikainoids). The robot is formed by combining two giant mecha: ZenkaiJuran (Juran, Red; mecha form JuranTyranno, a Tyrannosaurus, a nod to Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger) and ZenkaiGaon (Gaon, Yellow; mecha form GaonLion, a lion, a nod to Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger). The name JuraGaon is derived from these two series references. Important for collectors: Zenkaiger was never adapted into Power Rangers, so this mecha never appeared as a Power Rangers toy and remained Japan-exclusive throughout.
The ZenkaiOh system is designed as a mix-and-match kit: there are four known combinations, each made of two giants, and the robot is piloted by a single operator. In the JuraGaon form, ZenkaiJuran makes up one body half and ZenkaiGaon the other. Control is switched via the fangs: clicking once hands control to Juran (armed with the Juran Sword and Juran Shield), clicking twice to Gaon (using the Gaon Claw). JuraGaon and its sister combination VrooMagine are cross-compatible, so the four DX giants can be rebuilt into additional ZenkaiOh configurations.
For the DX toy, two releases must be distinguished; both are made by Bandai (Japan). The original DX ZenkaiOh JuraGaon shipped in March 2021 as a standard all-plastic children's toy. The item described here, the DX Metal Append, is the upgraded premium edition aimed at adult collectors (released 26 February 2022, 16,500 yen incl. tax). It adds die-cast metal parts for a noticeably heavier, higher-quality feel and features a more careful paint job: a newly cast, larger head, nickel-plated fangs, die-cast used on the Juran Sword blade, ankles and the lower jaw of the chest face, plus repainted thighs, Juran Shield and head markings. Extra add-on parts bring the silhouette closer to the on-screen appearance. The core play function (separating, reconfiguring and combining) is retained, and the Metal Append remains compatible with the line's standard DX giants.
