Description
The Boonboom Classic (Japanese: ブンブンクラシック, Bunbun Classic) is an auxiliary vehicle from the "Boonboom Car" line in Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger (爆上戦隊ブンブンジャー), the 48th Super Sentai series (2024). The Boonboomger team is built around a car and motorsport theme; the Boonboom Cars are not tied to a single ranger and can be driven by any team member. The Classic is modelled after a classic American sedan (Checker Marathon) and, in its standard release, has a wine-red body. No Power Rangers adaptation of the series exists — Boonboomger was never localized for the US market, so this zord appeared only as a Japan-exclusive Super Sentai toy and never as a Power Rangers product.
Combat and combination mechanics: when a Boonboom Car drives through the Boon Trailer set to "Gate Mode," it shifts into Attack Mode, in which an internal blade extends and reshapes the vehicle into a sword-like form used to perform driving sword techniques. The Classic is compatible with the DX Boonboomger Robo and can be freely plugged together with other Boonboom Cars to create the collector's own combinations. Attaching the car to the separately sold DX Boonboom Changer triggers its associated sound effects.
The DX toy is made by Bandai (Japan) and belongs to the Boonboom Car Series. It is mostly plastic (ABS/PVC), in a compact vehicle scale, and offers the Attack Mode conversion, Gate Mode play, sound activation on the Changer, and plug compatibility with the Robo and other Cars. This particular release is the "Cool Blue Ver.," purely a color variant (recolor): mechanically identical to the wine-red standard Classic but finished in a cool blue with gold and silver accents. It was released on 21 September 2024 at 1,540 yen and was frequently offered as a pair with the DX Boonboom Racing Cool Blue Ver.
