Description

"Boonboom Off-Road Ghost" (Japanese ブンブンオフロードゴーストVer., Bunbun Offroad Ghost Ver.) comes from "Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger" (爆上戦隊ブンブンジャー), the 48th Super Sentai season (2024/25) built around a car and motorsport theme. The series never received a Power Rangers adaptation; the zord is Japan-exclusive and was never released as a Power Rangers toy. It is based on the support mecha "Boonboom Off-Road," one of the team's sentient partner vehicles (the "Boonboom Cars"): an off-road vehicle normally assigned to the blue ranger Bun Blue (Ishiro Meita), which in the standard combination forms an arm of the main robot Boonboomger Robo. The "Ghost" version is an in-show phantom duplicate of that vehicle, summoned via the Boonboom Car Starter, and debuted in episode 8.

In combat the phantom copy relies on its shifting, trick-driving handling: in episode 8, Bun Red (Taiya Hando) deploys the duplicate and attaches it to Boonboomger Robo's right arm, forming the special configuration "Boonboomger Robo Puncher." The zord did not appear again after that episode. Like the other Boonboom Cars it is not a standalone battle robot but an interchangeable add-on part that changes the robot's armament and configuration.

The DX toy is made by Bandai (Japan) and is predominantly plastic. It is a limited special recolor ("Ghost Ver.") of the standard DX Boonboom Off-Road and was not a regular standalone retail item: Bandai issued it in 2024 as a campaign premium under the "Special Boonboom Car GET" promotion (starting 20 April 2024). It was obtained by purchasing certain DX items during the campaign window (among them the DX Boonboom Changer, DX Boonboom Handle, DX Boonboomger Robo, or DX Boonboom Change Axe), and it was also included with some DX sets. Functionally it matches the regular Off-Road: a small free-rolling vehicle that plugs onto the DX Boonboomger Robo as an attachment and triggers special sound effects when inserted into the DX Boonboom Changer. As a pure campaign/bonus variant it is a collector's piece with no Power Rangers counterpart.
