Description

Boonboom Racing (Japanese: ブンブンレーシング) is an auxiliary/support vehicle Zord from the 48th Super Sentai series, Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger (2024–2025), the automobile-themed team led by BunRed. It belongs to the "Boonboom Car" line of additional vehicles that are not part of the core robot but serve to upgrade it. In design it is a sharply styled red race car modeled on a Ferrari 488 GT3, built entirely for top speed. Important for collectors: Boonboomger received no Power Rangers adaptation. This Zord was never released as a Power Rangers toy and is therefore Japan-exclusive.

In the show, its "Attack Mode" flips open the car's front and top to form the "Bakuage Burner," firing flames from the front nozzle (described in-fiction at roughly 4,000 °C). Combined with the main robot Boonboomger Robo and the vehicle Boonboom Classic, it forms Boonboomger Robo Knight — a knight-themed upgrade specialized in high-speed movement and swordsmanship. To dock, the vehicle is run through the "Boonboom Trailer" (gate mode), which switches it into Attack Mode so it can be mounted on the robot.

The DX toy is made by Bandai (Japan) and sold as "DX Boonboom Racing," part of the Boonboom Car Series. It is made mostly of plastic (ABS/PVC), requires no batteries, and is rated for ages 3 and up; the Attack Mode transformation and the docking mechanism to the Robo are purely mechanical. Vehicle-specific sounds and voice callouts are not produced by the car itself but are triggered through the separately sold DX Boonboom Changer or DX Boonboomger Robo. Release: 2024. Variant note: alongside the standard red version, a pure color variant "Cool Blue Ver." was released (21 Sep 2024, MSRP 1,540 yen) — a blue recolor of the same vehicle with no functional differences.
