Description
The BoonBoom Safari (Japanese: ブンブンサファリ, Bunbun Safari) is an auxiliary mecha from the 48th Super Sentai series, Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger (爆上戦隊ブンブンジャー, 2024–2025), a vehicle- and delivery-themed show. It belongs to the "BoonBoom Cars," the small vehicle mecha the Boonboomger team fights with. Rather than a standalone main robot, the Safari is a support/weapon zord: in its regular on-screen appearance it is a light-yellow mecha shaped like a safari/off-road car. Because this series never received a Power Rangers adaptation, the Safari was never released as a Power Rangers toy — it is Japan-exclusive.
In "Attack Mode" the Safari transforms into the Bakuage Claw, a clawed weapon (with green claws) that mounts onto the combining robot, Boonboomger Robo, to arm it. Using the series' BoonBoom Changer triggers a dedicated sound for the Safari, and running the vehicle through the BoonBoom Trailer in "Gate Mode" instantly flips it into Attack Mode. The Safari therefore works both as a standalone vehicle and as modular armament for the combined robot.
The DX toy is made by Bandai (Japan) as part of the "BoonBoom Car Series." It is mostly plastic (ABS/PVC) and offers the vehicle/attack-mode transformation plus sound interaction with the DX BoonBoom Changer, DX BoonBoom Trailer and DX Boonboomger Robo (each sold separately). The "Wild White Ver." is not a new mecha but a color/repaint variant of the standard BoonBoom Safari: instead of the show's light yellow, this release is predominantly white with black accents, giving it a panda-like look (the claws remain green). It was released on 12 October 2024 at roughly ¥1,540, alongside other white repaints in the BoonBoom Car line (e.g. the DX BoonBoom Patcar 1 "Justice White Ver."), and plays its own exclusive sound through the BoonBoom Changer. No Power Rangers counterpart exists.
