Description
Boonboom Shovel (Japanese ブンブンショベル / Boonboom Shovel) is an auxiliary mecha from the Super Sentai series Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger (爆上戦隊ブンブンジャー, the 48th Super Sentai series, 2024). The show centers on sentient vehicle mecha called Boonboom Cars, used by the Boonboomger team. The Boonboom Shovel is a yellow shovel/excavator-type vehicle and one of the support Boonboom Cars – not a standalone main robot, but an add-on and power-up unit. Important for the database: Boonboomger has no Power Rangers adaptation; its mecha and toys are Japan-exclusive and never appeared as Power Rangers products.
In the series the Boonboom Cars perform their "Bakuage" transformation by driving through the gate of the Boonboom Trailer. The Boonboom Shovel combines with the main robot Boonboomger Robo and the Boonboom Dozer to form the super-combination Boonboom Builder (Boonboomger Robo Builder): the Boonboom Dozer forms the head, while the Shovel becomes the robot's weapon in Attack Mode. On its own it features rolling wheels, a movable arm and an extendable boom.
The DX toy is made by Bandai (Japan) as part of the "Boonboom Car Series." The standard retail DX Boonboom Shovel was released in 2024 (April), is made of plastic, and offers electronic interaction: mounted on the separately sold DX Boonboom Changer it triggers a dedicated voice/sound, and it can attach to the DX Boonboomger Robo. This particular item is the "TV-Kun version" – a magazine-exclusive edition distributed as a bundled appendix (furoku) of the children's magazine TerebiKun (てれびくん, published by Shogakukan) and not available through normal retail. It differs from the standard yellow release through a special translucent clear coloring (typically clear yellow, sometimes with glitter flakes); its play function is essentially the same as, or reduced from, the retail version. As with the whole line, no Power Rangers counterpart exists.
