Description
"Tega Sword Black" (Japanese テガソード ブラック, Tegasōdo Burakku) is from "No.1 Sentai Gozyuger" (ナンバーワン戦隊ゴジュウジャー), the 49th Super Sentai series and the franchise's 50th-anniversary commemorative production (TV Asahi, 2025). It is the black configuration of the Gozyugers' central piece of gear, the TegaSword. This black form belongs to Gozyu Unicorn, the team's Black warrior — notable as the first female "Black" hero in Super Sentai history. The five-member team (Gozyu Wolf/Red, Gozyu Leon/Blue, Gozyu Tyranno/Yellow, Gozyu Eagle/Green, Gozyu Unicorn/Black) is color-coded after the rings of the Olympic flag. Important for collectors: because Gozyuger received no Power Rangers adaptation, this item was never released as a Power Rangers toy — it is Japan-exclusive.
The TegaSword is both the transformation (henshin) device and a mecha: the right-handed sword/gauntlet grip with a blue translucent blade reads the "Sentai Rings," which summon the powers of past Sentai teams and trigger finishers. The TegaSword itself converts into a small robot; placing the matching ring on its head completes a colored robot form (e.g. TegaSword Red). "Tega Sword Black" is the armed robot form in Gozyu Unicorn's color, created by combining the TegaSword with the Unicorn Drill 50, the Black warrior's drill arm, and it additionally has a "Charge Mode."
As a DX toy the form is realized through two separately sold Bandai (Japan) items: the "DX Tega Sword" (released February 2025) as the base device and the "DX Unicorn Drill 50" (released March 2025) as the combining/weapon arm. Both are made of plastic (ABS/PVC) and feature electronics with light and sound effects; a pendulum/shake sensor triggers transformation, battle and robot sound sequences when shaken or "clapped," and the rings are recognized on contact. Variant note: "Tega Sword Black" is not a standalone single release but a combination/armament form of DX Tega Sword + DX Unicorn Drill 50; alongside it exist the standard DX Tega Sword, set editions (such as the "Gozyuger No.1 Set" or a Toys"R"Us set) and a memorial "UNI. ver." No Power Rangers version exists.
