The Tega Sword is the central piece of gear used by the team No.1 Sentai Gozyuger (Japanese: ナンバーワン戦隊ゴジュウジャー), the 49th Super Sentai series, which aired on TV Asahi from 16 February 2025 to 8 February 2026 and also marks the franchise's 50th anniversary. A defining trait of the show is that the Tega Sword is simultaneously the Rangers' transformation device and their main mecha. In the backstory, the so-called "Universe War" pitted the 49 previous Super Sentai and their mecha against a threat called Cladis; on the brink of defeat, the Sentai combined their powers into the "Sentai Rings" and summoned the ultimate savior, the Tega Sword, which destroyed Cladis. The name "Tega Sword Origin" refers to the sword's true, original form, which first appeared in "Super Sentai Universe War: No.1 Sentai Gozyuger Episode 0," released before the series proper began.

Unlike classic Sentai, where several mecha merge into a single giant robot, each Gozyuger combines the Tega Sword with their personal Tega Sword Sentai Ring and weapon to form their own individually piloted robot. The sword becomes, for example, Tega Sword Red, the main robo of Gozyu Wolf, using the Tega Sword Red Sentai Ring as its head. The attached Sentai Rings let the sword draw on the powers of past warriors and special techniques. The series concept thus deliberately forgoes large combining robots in favor of many standalone Tega Sword forms.

The DX toy is made by Bandai (Japan), primarily from ABS plastic, as an electronic role-play item with light and sound. A pendulum/vibration sensor triggers lights plus robot and battle sounds when the unit is moved, and separately sold Sentai Rings are recognized individually and play character-specific voices. The sword converts into a robot form and is compatible with add-on weapons such as the DX Leon Buster 50, DX Tyranno Hammer 50, DX Eagle Shooter 50 and DX Unicorn Drill 50. The "Tega Sword Origin" variant listed here was released as a limited edition in early 2026: it depicts the Episode 0 origin form, is finished in vivid red with elaborate gold paint and distinctive wing-like parts on the back, and includes newly recorded voice, transformation and combat sounds, among them dialogue from the Tega Sword itself. It differs from the standard DX version mainly through this red-and-gold coloring and the back wings; a larger, higher-end "Memorial Edition" (roughly 130% of DX size) exists as a separate collector item. Because No.1 Sentai Gozyuger has no Power Rangers adaptation, the Tega Sword was never released as a Power Rangers toy — it is Japan-exclusive.
