Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger

Insect Mechs in a world of kingdoms: Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger honestly feels like something genuinely new, both in its setting and in its Zord design. The series takes place almost entirely in a fantasy world made up of several kingdoms. Technology and magic blend seamlessly into one another here, which is reflected directly in the design of the Mechs. The Zords aren't classic animals or vehicles, but insect-Mechs, each closely tied to a particular kingdom and its ruler.

The Zord system is comparatively clearly structured, but at the same time places great emphasis on modularity and presentation. Many combinations are stable, well-proportioned, and clearly designed with display-worthiness in mind. Alongside the official combinations, interesting unofficial variants come out of this as well.

One such possibility is combining the head of Don Onitaijin with the body of the 1st Robo. This creates an alternate mode with a completely distinctive, unusual look. This combination isn't officially intended, but technically it works without a hitch and looks surprisingly coherent. Meaningless for play, but for the display case it's definitely an appealing option.
