Series Zords 4

My thoughts on this season:

Tires instead of basic shapes: Power Rangers Turbo carried the transition begun in Zeo forward consistently, and this time the theme centered on a purely technical zord concept, namely vehicles.

The RV Robo was the initial focus and still followed the familiar combination principle, but it felt more functional when combining and more realistic overall. The zords came across more as machines and less as beings in their own right, which suited the character of the season well.

Within the Turbo season, too, there was once again a change of the main zord. Later on, the RV Robo was replaced by the VRV Robo. In doing so, Turbo continued what had already been set up in MMPR3 and Zeo, namely swapping out the central Megazord in the middle of an ongoing season.

An interesting extra connected to the Turbo season is the Gekisou Sentai Carranger Victory Dock, also known as the Turbo Rangers Garage Playset. It isn't the first playset within the line, but it is the first one that can actually be played with directly alongside the zords. That very fact makes it interesting for my collection, since it meaningfully expands the vehicle concept of the Turbozords and gives them a functional environment for the first time.
